This weekend sees the staging of the 32nd Porsche Club Parade, as the Porsche Club of South Africa celebrates their 59th anniversary. This in itself is quite remarkable as Porsche recently celebrated their 70th anniversary, so Porsche has had a long history in South Africa. The event has attracted over 100 Porsche owners, who will live it up at San Lameer this weekend.
The biennial event sees the coming together of all four Porsche Clubs in South Africa for an event where the owners can experience and enjoy the performance of their cars in a controlled and safe environment. The weekend sees a combination of driving and social events, and the rekindling of friendships as well as the forging of new ones. This is brought about by a love of the marque, and an appreciation of the technology.
The organising committee has decided that the NSRI is the charity that will be supported and any funds raised will be donated to them.
The driving events, as well as the Show and Shine are open to the public. Details are below:
21 September, Friday, from 9am – Time trials, Dezzi South Coast Raceway
22 September, Saturday, from 9am - ¼ mile, top speed & Auto X event, Dezzi South Coast Raceway
23 September, Sunday, 10am-1pm, Show and Shine event, Margate Pier
23 September, Sunday, 11am, NSRI demonstration, Margate Pier
